Synopsis:
Cat burglars are running amok in the community and it is up to Chief Beau Vine, Detective Jack Ell, Senior Officer Don Key and Rookie Barry Cuda to crack the case! This original comedy highlights the acting talents of real life crime fighters from the Canon City Police Department as well as other community members.
The audience added to the script by submitting random lines that were used by cast members during the show. (along the lines of “Whose Line Is It Anyway”). The production was a fundraiser for the CCPD’s annual “Shop With A Cop” and Members’ Benefits programs.

We had GREAT AUDIENCES, lots of very funny “added” lines, and raised a LOT of money for the CCPD programs!

We were very excited to present Cat-tastrophe in the Canyon or The Taming of the Zoo! For the second year, our production highlighted the theatrical talents of Cañon City Police Department staff, with a few new folks in the mix. As was the case last year, ticket sales from this event benefitted the CCPD’s Shop-with-a-Cop (SWAC) and the Members’ Benefit programs. We have so many folks to thank for helping make this event possible! We sincerely appreciate the Historic Rialto Theater, its Board of Directors and volunteers for partnering with us in this venture – the support and enthusiasm has been phenomenal! Thank you to all of the sponsors and advertisers for helping to make this show possible. I am so very blessed to have had such an amazing cast and crew! Of course, I am also appreciative to our outstanding theater patrons who keep community theater alive and well in Fremont County. Above all, I am deeply grateful for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and all He has done for me! – Kathy Herrin, Playwright/Director
