The meeting was called to order by President Rich Burleson at 5:35 p.m. Board members present were Kathy Seidling, Steve Steele, RC Wilkins, Larry Baker, Ken Trusty, Donna Murphy, and Marty Burleson. Board advisors, Lisa Steele and Beryl Baker were also present.

The volunteer time sheet was passed around for Board members to record their volunteer hours.

The minutes of the February 5, 2019 meeting were approved upon the motion of RC and seconded by Donna Murphy.


The Florence Chamber of commerce Banquet will be held at the Elks on March 2, 2019.
Several Board members will be attending. The Rialto has been nominated for the Non-Profit of the Year.

The Business Plan workshop held February 16, 2019 was reviewed. The Board will continue to meet to work on the Business Plan between regular Board meetings.

Rawlings grant recipients will be announced in March.

RC gave an update on the Little Women play. It was very successful.

The PCC Senior Mini College class will be held on March 20 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Steve and RC are assisting with the Power Point that Rich will present. On Friday the 22nd at 10:30 a.m. seniors that are interested will be given a tour of the Rialto by RC.

The Humane Society Fashion Doug Show will be held on April 13, 2019.

The Play Committee will discuss where to hang the painting of the Rialto the Bakers have donated to the Rialto./p>


Marty made a motion seconded by RC that Kathy Madonna be invited to our next Board meeting to discuss her returning to the Board.

Michelle Hyatt will be the director of “Fremont County Has Talent” which will be held on April 26 and April 27. Auditions will be held March 11-15 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on March 16. The proposed budget for the Talent Show was $500. Upon a motion by Marty seconded by Steve, the board approved the $500 budget.

The family of Fifi Dye-Parks has donated her can-can dress from the Red Brick Players. Rich is going to make a shadow box to display the dress along with a picture of the Red Brick Players Can Can dancers.

Projects Committee

The projects committee is going to estimate the cost of completing the “Green Room”. A fund raising drive to complete the project is being discussed. Other projects to be completed are repairing and painting the walls of the auditorium and to install a curtain across the top of the stage. Motion was made by Marty, seconded by Steve to start work on these projects.

Play Committee

The play committee will meet on Wednesday March 13 at 10:00 a.m. The Play for December of 2019 will be “The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge”. The “Clue” play will be held on May 24, 5, 26, and 31 and June 1, and 2. Auditions will be March 28, 29, 30 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Additional auditions can be held on April 1 through April 6 by appointment.

The formation of the Rialto Junior Players is being organized. The plans for the Summer Theatre Camp were also discussed. Upon the motion of Kathy Seidling and seconded by Ken Trusty, both of these projects were unanimously approved.

Events Committee

The Rialto will host the Colorado Country Music Association from June 28 through June 30.

The FEDC has requested use of the Rialto on May 9 for their program for Fremont County business people, small businesses and others to hear presenters of new ideas, network, compare notes and share success stories. Upon on the motion of RC, seconded by Kathy Seidling, the request was approved.


There being no further business to bring before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.

The next meeting will be held March 5 at 5:30 p.m. The Annual meeting will be held on March 19, 2019.
