The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by President Rich Burleson. Board members present were Larry Baker, Donna Murphy, Kathy Seidling, Steve Steele, Ken Trusty, R.C. Wilkins, Todd Williams and Marty Burleson. Board member Kathy Madonna was absent. Board Advisor, Beryl Baker was also present.
Minutes of October 16, 2018 were unanimously approved upon the motion of Donna and R.C.
The Treasurer’s Report was accepted upon the motion of Marty, seconded by R.C.
No decision on the ceiling in the hallway until Elaine Greenley is able to see it and give her opinion.
The New Year’s Eve Party committee will be communicating by phone for the final decisions. The Rialto is in charge of the decorations. Marty, Ken, and Todd volunteered to help with the decorations.
The business plan workshop has been moved to November 27, 2018 at 5:30 due to conflicts in schedules.
Wayne Hammerstadt and Amy Whitesell are continuing to look for bands that would fit into the dates we have available and also meet our budget if we go in that direction
The Ben Younger Band has been set for Saturday, December 8 at 7 p.m. Lisa is waiting to get some more information about the band in order to promote the event and create a poster. Rich will talk to Mark and see if he can get some more information.
The Sons and Brothers concert with the Atomic Fireballs was very successful. Mark Derryberry, their sound engineer, has volunteered to give us some advice to improve the sound in the theater.
Jamie Lopez a student at CSU Pueblo has expressed interest in helping us with our business plan. Rich has also visited with David Volk, the head of the music department at CSU Pueblo. He would be interested in a possible jazz concert on April 18 at the Rialto featuring some of his students.
The Halloween on Main was very successful.
Beth Lenz has offered to help us with grant writing and a cousin of the Wolking brothers is also someone we need to contact regarding grant writing.
All those available need to help with concessions, ticket taking and security at the “Vintage Hitchcock” plays. R.C. reported that they are under budget by $890.46.
The tickets for the Ben Younger Band will be $10.00 and will include a ticket to get a beer for $1.00.
Rich has received a letter of resignation from Kathy Madonna. The resignation was reluctantly accepted upon the motion of Todd and seconded by Larry.
Projects are on hold pending income.
The play committee will meet on November 14 at 10:00 a.m. The Play Selection Information Process and the New Guidelines will be presented for action at the November 20, 2018 board meeting.
The committee will be working on bands, concerts, and programs to complete the calendar and work on 2019.
There being no further business to bring before the Board the meeting was adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
