The Rialto Players Theater Troupe will be holding open auditions for “Vintage Hitchcock a live Radio Play” by Joe Landry.
Auditions will be held on August 6th and 7th a 6 pm at the Historic Rialto Theater at 209 E. Main St., Florence, CO. We are looking for a cast of 3 men and 2 women. We also are in need of 4 -6 people that would like to do a LIVE sound effect onstage, e.g. walk on stage with a cane and limp, crash cymbals, etc. We are looking for people who can read and make different sounds with their voices. The cast will be reading from a script so there are NO LINES to memorize. We also need some people to sing jingles during the radio advertisements within the radio show.
HERE IS YOUR CHANCE! This is an opportunity for everyone – even if you have no experience in theatre as this is a ‘reader’s theatre’ where everything happens live on a historic stage. No preparation is needed as the auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.
Spies, murder, love and other trademarks of Alfred Hitchcock come to life in the style of 1940’s Radio Broadcast of the master of suspense’s earlier films: The Lodger, Sabotage, and The 39 Steps.
Rehearsals begin in early September and performances will be held on October 19th, 20th and 21st and the following weekend, 26th, 27th and the 28th.
