The Front Range Big Band performed at the Rialto on April 30, 2022. Our theme was “Spring Fling” and we had several couples dress in period-specific costumes. We gave a prize for the best costume.

THE NEW CENTURY BIG BAND was formed in October, 2002 as a “band for the community.” The group performs regularly for special community events, park concerts, private parties and hosts the monthly BIG BAND SUNDAY at the Colorado Springs Senior Center.

We had a really good crowd. We even had people hear the music and walk in off the street. We had a few brave folks take to the dance floor. Everyone was tapping their toes to the music. Here are some of the songs that were played:

  • In the Mood
  • Rock Around The Clock
  • Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy
  • Route 66
  • It Had To Be You
  • Sing, Sing, Sing
  • Fly me To The Moon
  • Your Mama Don’t Dance
  • Night Train
  • All Of Me
  • Blue Moon
  • Tequila
  • String of Pearls
  • Moon River
  • American Bandstand
  • Old Time Rock And Roll
  • Proud Mary
  • For Once In My Life
  • Jumpin’ At The Woodside
  • Save The Last Dance For Me
