Historic Rialto Theater

The melodrama “Belle of the Ball -or- Mother Claims the Lode” was performed at the Rialto Theater September 14-17, 2023. The fairy tales of Cinderella and Snow White are lassoed together in this high-kicking western melodrama! The Rialto Theater Red Brick Players put on an amazing performance. Everyone had a rip-roaring good time!

The Rialto Theater hosted a Children’s Theater Program July 24-Aug 4. This talented class of budding thespians presented “Stone Soup” and a talent showcase as the capstone of this experience on Aug 5 @ 2pm.

The Westcliffe Center for the Performing Arts, located in the Jones Theater in Westcliffe, presented a one-day-only showing of their summer Shakespeare production “Measure for Measure” at the Rialto Theater.

“Check Please” and “Check Please: Take 3” were performed at the Rialto Theater March 3, 4, and 5, 2023. It was hilariously funny!
Dating can be hard. Especially when your date happens to be a raging kleptomaniac, or your grandmother’s bridge partner, or a mime. “Check Please” follows a series of blind dinner dates that couldn’t get any worse — until they do. Could there possibly be a light at the end of the tunnel?

There were 6 performances on Dec 2 – Dec 11, 2022 at the Rialto. We had such amazing crowds for many of the performances, and the final matinee performance was Sold-Out!
It’s Christmas Eve at the church and the pageant must go on in one hour. Even as parishioners are lining up at the door, the players aren’t prepared, the producer’s big plans are over budget, the directors are engaged in a power struggle, the chorus keeps clucking away, and all the while the pastor’s hopes to raise funds to help the homeless hang on a wing and a prayer.

“Clue” was performed at the Rialto Theater May 20-29, 2022. It was a Smash Success!
Based on the iconic 1985 Paramount movie which was inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, Clue is a hilarious farce-meets-murder mystery. The tale begins at a remote mansion, where six mysterious guests assemble for an unusual dinner party where murder and blackmail are on the menu. When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects.

This hilarious comedy was written by Neil Simon, presented by Fremont Civic Theatre, and performed at the Rialto Theater.

This classic play was performed at the Rialto Theater on July 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, and 18, 2021. Our wonderful cast and crew put in many long hours and lots of hard work to bring this fantastic play to life. We want to thank all the cast, crew, donors, and the community for making this happen.

This was a delightful melodrama that featured a dashing Hero, a sigh-worth Heroine, and an evil Villain with a sinister laugh. It was sprinkled with loads of pun-ny humor. The audiences really enjoyed this light-hearted performance.

The Variety Show was a great success again this year, highlighting the talents of local Fremont County singers, piano players, guitars player, cellists, dancers, dramatic readings, and corny jokes.

Deathtrap holds the record as the longest-running comedy-thriller on Broadway.
